ABOUT OUR SCHOOL

Chaparral Hills Elementary School was opened in 2005 and has served thousands of students since. It has 32 classrooms and collaborative spaces throughout the building, staff and students enjoy the facilities and are proud of their school. Our school has been recognized by the California PBIS Coalition at the bronze level. These type of successes occur when school and family work in partnership towards a common goal.

Our students' social emotional learning is a top priority at CHES. Behavioral expectations are implemented, monitored, and evaluated following the “Positive Behavior Intervention and Support” (PBIS) research-based process.

We believe global productive citizenship and high academic performance are related and all students should work towards productivity. Adults will guide students and it is the student's responsibility to learn. Students must know the expectations, be responsible for executing those expectations and evaluate choices when executing expectations.

STEAM LAB

Chaparral Hills Elementary School is proud to have our STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts, and Mathematics) lab! The STEAM lab provides students with opportunities for inquiry based learning and rich academic conversations that prepare our students to be 21st century learners.  Classes are encouraged to use these STEAM Labs as catalysts that inspire future STEAM lessons that they plan within their own classrooms.

ESports

We have our very own ESports team! Students work together to train, practice, and ultimately compete against each other and other teams.

Our Mascot

Our school mascot is the Cheetah. Below is some information about the cheetah:
Collectively, cheetahs form a coalition. Three characteristics make cheetahs different from other big cats. These characteristics also symbolize the qualities of our school staff and students:

  • Cheetahs are smaller than other big cats and must rely on speed for survival. Like cheetahs, the Chaparral Hills staff and students are goal oriented and works efficiently towards achieving our goals.
  • Cheetahs are the only big cats that do not roar. Instead, they purr. And, they purr loudest when they are with other cheetahs. Like cheetahs, the Chaparral Hills staff and students enjoy working together and being together.
  • Cheetahs are the most gentle of the big cats. Like cheetahs, the Chaparral Hills staff and students are easy-going and we are not easily angered.
